The online Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Dental Hygiene degree program from The Fones School of Dental Hygiene offers dental hygienists who wish to advance their career an opportunity to further their education beyond their A.S. degree. Dental hygienists traditionally begin their professional work following completion of the A.S. degree and certification, at which point the demands of their work schedule become an unavoidable obstacle to pursuing the B.S degree at a traditional university. The B.S. in Dental Hygiene online degree program will remove this obstacle for thousands of dental hygienists worldwide who could learn at anytime, from anywhere. The B.S. in Dental Hygiene Online is optimal for adult learners who are able to find the time and discipline to engage in part-time self-directed study working with qualified faculty in their subject field.

Oral Cancer Foundation -- In the US alone, over 30,000 people will be diagnosed with oral cancer this year. Sadly, more than half of them will not be alive in five years. This is a statistic which has remained relatively unchanged for the last 5 decades. The reason this is such a deadly disease, more than cervical cancer or malignant melanoma, is that it is routinely discovered late in its development. By that time, the cancer has metastasized to other locations, and the survival prognosis is poor. Together, we can reduce this death rate through public and professional awareness, early diagnosis, and lifestyle changes. Even with existing treatments, this is within our grasp. You can help make it happen.
