Emergency Medicine Flip Chart -- The Emergency Medicine Flip Chart was created to have a quick access to common medical emergencies in the dental setting. It refers to the following conditions: Allergic Reactions, Angina Pectoris, Asthma, Diabetes, Heart Attack, Hyperventilation, Postural Hypotension, Seizures, Syncope. Oral Cancer Foundation -- In the US alone, over 30,000 people will be diagnosed with oral cancer this year. Sadly, more than half of them will not be alive in five years.This is a statistic which has remained relatively unchanged for the last 5 decades. The reason this is such a deadly disease, more than cervical cancer or malignant melanoma, is that it is routinely discovered late in its development. By that time, the cancer has metastasized to other locations, and the survival prognosis is poor. Together, we can reduce this death rate through public and professional awareness, early diagnosis, and lifestyle changes. Even with existing treatments, this is within our grasp. Campaign for Dental Hygiene Reciprocity Ann Onstad, RDH from Texas has started a page to get other hygienists involved. This campaign is to enable dental hygienists to be able to move from state to state and be able to practice with a license from another state. Ann has also volunteered her services for her state components to start websites for each to enable Texas hygienists to have a site online for information on their component.
